I’ll attempt to keep this update short for now, as Luque and I are working hard on iSSUE 4 at the moment.
This iSSUE was our hardest yet, as we had to make a decent amount of difficult decisions. iSSUE 3 originally shared a similar framework with the BETA JSRX comic, however the resulting iSSUE was about 35-40 pages long in total. While we wanted to avoid having iSSUES that were no less than 10 pages, we decided splitting the iSSUE up into pieces was the best solution. Otherwise, it would have made the release date for iSSUE 3 way too far in the future.
While this sadly results in iSSUE 3 having less content overall, Luque and I felt it would be best for there to be more action-oriented scenes spread throughout Chapter 1 rather than large spans of time where nothing “happens”.
This iSSUE’s song choice was also more abstract in comparison to the previous ones. While both Luque and I’s tastes in music cover a wide variety of genres and styles, we are both aware that not everyone will necessarily agree with some of our choices. It is important to note that the JSR/JSRF games both have very distinct styles/sub-genres of music; however for a comic series of this size and subject matter, the most logical course of action is to include a wide range of different songs and genres.
There’s not much else I can say without spoiling the next handful of iSSUEs, as like I stated previously, a decent amount of iSSUEs 4 and 5 got worked on during the development of iSSUE 3. While I would love to speak more on iSSUE 3’s development, there isn’t much to speak on to be honest. Due to both the length and cut (planned to be used later) content, that’s about all we can say about this last iSSUE.
