i’m happy to say that iSSUE 2 is chugging along MUCH faster than i had anticipated it would. i’m glad that my new job allows me so much down time, i can essentially work on the comic during my shifts which has been very helpful! i was able to update and clear out my old art laptop, so i can officially work anywhere i want, specifically my job (which they allow)!
anyways i wanted to try a new approach to the linework for iSSUE 2, and i think it looks good so far! it’s not really what i envisioned completely, i was mostly using jeon sang young’s Death Jam as a reference point and that manhwa has a lot of visibly messy and wet ink strokes. but it’s close enough for me to leave as-is, so i’m not going to sweat it too much. it’s almost kind of funny, i’m starting to realize my old art wasn’t only held back by my need to rush things, since it’s also been difficult to replicate the same type of linework i can do on my desktop with my laptop. it’s a little comforting to know it wasn’t entirely a skill issue, but it also makes it slightly annoying now that i’m using my laptop for art again. it’s old and holding on by hopes and dreams, but it works nonetheless and that’s all that matters right now-
speaking of my desktop, i finally got my hands on another screen, so now i have 3(?) screens! i got it from my girlfriend’s sister, who i think got it from a library cuz it’s one of those square ones they always have in libraries for checking out books. probably not though. either way, i’ve been wanting to have 2 desktop screens for awhile now, mostly for when i have to work on inserting the dialogue for each iSSUE. a LOT of my headaches come from trying to insert dialogue, so hopefully the extra screen will help some!
i’ve also decided that after i make the sketches for each page, i’m going to complete each page by itself before moving onto the next one. last time i tried to slowly work on each one at the same time, which became overwhelming and confusing. i’m hoping that by completing an entire page on it’s own, it’ll keep me motivated and more consistent with my workflow. it seems to be helping already, i’m almost complete with 4 pages so far! that’s a new record! i used to pump these things out like a machine, but i did sacrifice the quality for the quantity. i won’t make that mistake again, lol.
in other other news, i did get the test version of iSSUE 1 in the mail! its lookin nice, pages are crisp, colors are pretty, its everything i could’ve hoped for! i should get everything squared away with the distributor soon, and JSRX can be officially sold as a physical copy as well! they seem to be the best option for on-demand printing, so i’m keeping my fingers crossed that nothing gets messed up. sadly i won’t be able to sign copies since they handle all aspects of distribution, maybe someday though lol. i’ve still gotta fix one or two things before i can get them ready for printing, some minor changes. but to those who have been asking about getting a physical copy, you have been heard!
sorry for the lengthy update, i’m trying to consolidate information more so that people aren’t getting spammed with update-after-update notifications. im sure it can get annoying :^P

Also, hey, is that our boy, Clutch? He didn’t changed so much since you posted his ref on your website, maybe it’s for the good.
And another thing, I’m happy you’ll get some money from your hard, very haaard job!! But sad what I live in some parody of 1984, so I won’t get these precious pages of art…
aw thanks! yea, it’s the same updated design from around mid-2024, he’s based around some character designs by yoshiharu tsuge! he’s also sort of supposed to resemble a frog loll.
