O: Well, it looks like my estimations were again, wrong. Despite what I have stated previously, I’ve decided to go back to having Clutch’s storyline featured in ISSUE 3.

After doing the “math”, switching the story would exponentially extend the overall amount of ISSUES in Chapter 1. While that seems illogical in theory, it actually is related to the pacing of the story as well as the “staggering” of plot related elements. If I were to use Gum and Beat’s storyline for ISSUE 3, that would push Clutch’s portion to extend to 2 separate ISSUES. If Clutch’s storyline was used in ISSUE 3 however, the 4th ISSUE could have 2 storylines instead of 1 larger one. Because of the length of each individual storyline, the situation is a lot more precarious than it appears, hence why it would make more sense to stick with Clutch for a little bit longer.

“Precarious”. Back when I was employed at a hardware store, I was teased for a good week because I had used the word “precarious” to describe a display setup. It was a very surreal experience, as I was never fully aware of how pretentious I could come across as. Thankfully, due to my unassuming nature, my smart-alec speech patterns tend to be neutralized; thus leading to most people not picking up on my eccentricities. If I spoke with any authority or confidence however, I would definitely be perceived differently. I’m surprised I’ve made it this far in life without having my head shoved in a toilet bowl. My apologies for the weird tangent, I tend to be quite self conscious about how I speak and write.

I do apologize for the frequent contradictions in the last few updates, planning out a comic can be hard. However, with all the of those problems figured out, ISSUE 3 can get back on track.

L: anyways, in some semi-related news, i got my old job back!! my old job is a seasonal position, so i wasn’t fired or anything. i love my job, which is something i never thought i would say tbh. i never had a “dream career” or anything like that, even when i was little.

i’ll be working with the natural parks again over the summer; the section i’m working with is not federally funded so my position is (hopefully) not too effected by the current state of the white house n whatever. tbh i do have the “lowest tier” job in that area but frankly i prefer it. i have to do a hell of a lot of manual labor, most of it is upkeep and preservation; as well as a decent chunk requiring me to interact with the public. i don’t know, i think when it feels like i’m actually doing something with an end goal and obvious results that have clear and overall positive benefits, i actually really enjoy whatever it is i have to do. especially with the manual labor aspect, i work better with concrete objectives n whatnot.

the only real downside to me taking up my old job is the fact that i will no longer be able to “work on” the comic while at work. my summer job is entirely outdoors, meaning when i have downtime, i don’t have any way of working on digital art. i don’t want this to slow down my production time tho, so don’t y’all worry too much about it!

things have slowed down a bit these last two months. along with some other things id rather not talk about, my cat has a pretty bad health scare. she’s a-ok now and better than ever, but she had to be put under for an operation n stuff. mf just loves eating plastic…

(my intersex cat with her fat head, post operation)

even tho work on the comic slowed down a little, im ready to pick up the pace again and get this show on the road! thank you guys for y’alls endless patience up to this point, fr fr.

not sure what song to pick for this update… originally i was gonna choose a song by Cartola. i love all of the music of Cartola’s featured in ‘Raizes Do Samba,’ but for me his work elicits a sorta longing sadness kinda feeling. maybe it’s because it is inherently wistful/heartfelt music, or my own nostalgia idk. but i’d like to save a song of his for something more appropriate i suppose? Esperanza just ended up being a better fit; apparently Los Robbins is described as surfer music, and i always love a good surf song.
